Vows

We have written our own vows for the wedding.

We worked very hard to create vows which were meaningful to us, and which would be clear statements of our feelings and intentions.

The exact text is below....

  Naomi's vows to Eric

My Beloved Eric,

All my life I have searched for you, waited for you and now I have finally come home to you. I have found the one in who my soul delights, and it is You. I know that for us together to become all we can, each of us individually needs to continue to grow and thrive. I will do my best to nourish all of you, your physical body, your emotions and your spirit.

I love you, beyond words and beyond measure. I want to care for you and make you happy. To be there for you at the start and end of each day. To be by your side as we travel down life's twisted path together.

You are my love, you are my heart. You are my friend and my lover, partner and protector, my Husband and my Soul Mate. I give myself to you, body, mind, heart and soul, all of me. To be joined with all of you. My place is at your side. My home is where you are. Through the rest of this life and thereafter.

When I am with you I am at peace. I find comfort in your strength and solace in your arms. Just being near you soothes me in a way no one and nothing ever has.

I promise to love and cherish you, to honor and respect you, to care for you and let you take care of me.
I promise to trust in you, and have faith in you.
I promise to be honest with you and to be open to you, in all ways, to allow myself to simply be, to love and be loved.
I will support you to pursue your dreams and follow your heart.

When you are weary, take strength from me.
When you are sick, I promise to tend you.
When you talk, I will always listen, not just with my ears but with my heart.
When you are happy, I will rejoice with you.
When you hurt, I will hold you and help you.
When you need me, I will always be there for you.

By the life that courses within my blood and the love that resides within my heart, I take thee Eric to my hand, my heart, and my spirit, to be my chosen one. To desire thee and be desired by thee, to be possessed by thee, and possess thee. I promise to love thee wholly and completely without restraint. In sickness and in health, in plenty and in poverty, in life and beyond, where we shall meet, remember, and love again.

  Eric's vows to Naomi

My Beloved Naomi,

Before us lies the horizon of our future together, a boundless span of time that neither of us can see the limits of. Our souls fly together in the Light, rejoicing in the freedom of love. If the Eagle is the symbol of freedom born out of True Love, then I am one wing and you are equally the other. Our miracle, our magic is in choosing the Eagle's joy. the flight of souls over the sting of the Scorpion.

Life will challenge us many times in many ways.
But whatever lies ahead, we will face it together, providing loving shelter for each other from the storms of life, always remembering the people and experiences that makes us who we are, and always looking forward towards who we will grow to become.

As you have inspired me to follow my dreams,
so will I strive to help you achieve yours.
I will encourage you in your endeavors and nourish your spirit as we travel through this life together.
I will allow you to simply be you.
I will remember that it is easiest to hurt those we most love, and so I will think first about the consequences of my words and actions.

When there are misunderstandings, I will respond with patience and gentleness.
When you are scared, I will comfort your fears.
When you are confused, I will help you cope.
When you are sad, I will dry your tears.
When you are worried, I will give you hope.
Most of all, I will love you unconditionally, with all of my being.

By the life that courses within my blood and the love that resides within my heart, I take thee Naomi to my hand, my heart, and my spirit, to be my chosen one. To desire thee and be desired by thee, to possess thee, and be possessed by thee. I promise to love thee wholly and completely without restraint. In sickness and in health, in plenty and in poverty, in life and beyond, where we shall meet, remember, and love again.
